Who are we?
Gayfield Design is a well established Interior Design and Soft Furnishings company. Although we serve Edinburgh and the Lothians primarily, we have also completed projects throughout Scotland, as well as northern England and London. In over 20 years of trading we have worked with a variety of clients, both private and commercial and have completed projects ranging widely in scale.
Every enquiry is different and brings new and exciting challenges – we relish a challenge. This is why we offer a bespoke interior design service that is tailored specifically to your requirements. We recognise the delights and demands of listed buildings but are equally comfortable working with contemporary properties. From conception to completion we will work with you, offering our invaluable design expertise and product knowledge, ultimately helping you to create a space that you love.
Interior Designer
Susan Adams
Sue Adams is the founder of Gayfield Design which she started in 1993. Sue qualified from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a degree in printed textile design. After starting her career in the fashion industry, she spent 6 years working for Osborne and Little, one of the most innovative fabric and wallpaper design companies.
Susan Murray
Susan has worked with Sue as a curtain maker and seamstress for over 15 years and has many years’ experience in the making of all types of curtains, blinds and soft furnishings. She learnt her craft at A.F. Drysdale, formerly one of the UK’s leading interior designers as well as working abroad for a time.

We understand that building a good working relationship with each client is fundamental to the design process running smoothly and efficiently. We take pride in the fact that we enjoy such harmonious relationships with our clients and see many of them return, to employ our services again. We regularly meet new customers that come to us as a result of the recommendation of an existing client.
Our showroom boasts an extensive selection of fabrics and trimmings, wall coverings, flooring, furniture, lighting and accessories. It also houses our sewing workshop where we hand-make clients’ soft furnishings on site and examples of our sewing work are on display.
