Our process
We listen closely to your initial design brief and offer full support and guidance throughout the design process. Whether designing a single room or designing a full house – it can be a daunting task and requires an understanding approach.
Our aim is to make the entire process as stress free as possible, with our tested team of experienced tradesmen and contractors who we project manage on your behalf. Having worked with our trades’ team for many years we are confident in our ability to manage the whole project successfully from start to finish, giving the client complete peace of mind as you watch your interior design dreams come to fruition. Whether you require the hanging of a few rolls of wallpaper, or you require the complete refurbishment of an entire house – we can do it all.

Gayfield Design’s services are flexible to suit you – we offer our interior design advice on a consultation basis only, or we can supply goods and services along with the consultation. Of course, we offer the complete service of advice, design, supply and installation. Fees will be determined by the scale of consultation and goods and services required.

Interior Design
We can help you with your interior design enquiry at our Beaverhall Road Studio or we offer a Home Consultation Service where we can discuss your project in the comfort of your own home. With our highly skilled team of tradesmen we will the carry out the brief from conception to installation.
Furniture Supply
To furnish a room we can supply both hard and soft furniture from a range of suppliers to provide a unique furniture scheme. We can measure your room and provide scaled layouts to make the most of your space.
Bespoke Joinery and Cabinetry
When standard sized furniture is not going to work, or if you are looking for a particular item, we work with our specialised joiners and cabinet makers to design and make furniture to the size, colour and finish of your choice. The furniture can be of timber or painted or other bespoke finishes.
Lighting Design and Electric Installations
Good lighting is fundamental to a successful interior. We can guide you through the many options both contemporary and traditional. We offer an extensive selection of lighting including table and floor lamps plus recessed lighting, wall lights and pendants. Our expert electricians offer a full service of wiring, installation and testing, all as required.
Bathroom and Kitchen Design
As part of our Design Services we can help source, plan and design your bathroom or kitchen including the supply of cabinetry, appliances or sanitaryware and tiling. A full installation service can also be provided.
Flooring
A beautiful bespoke rug or a striking fitted carpet can finish a room and we can advise on all of these options. We can supply rugs and runners in wools, silks and clever man made options. Working with our long standing flooring fitter we can supply and fit carpets of all varieties, along with hardwood or laminate floorings.
Project Management and Listed Building Expertise
Managing a variety of tradesmen can be both daunting and time consuming. We offer our Project Management Service. Whether you have one room or a whole house to renovate we can oversee all the necessary trades involved. We have years of experience working in the many Georgian and Victorian properties in Edinburgh and understand their requirements as a result of any listed status.
